A scholarship offer should be read as a contract with conditions, not as a permanent reduction promised in conversation.
Questions to ask
- Is the award for the first year only or renewable?
- What grade, attendance or conduct standard applies?
- Does it cover tuition, hostel or both?
- When is the discount credited?
- Can the university withdraw it after a failed subject or late payment?
Compare the net cost
A higher published fee with a reliable multi-year scholarship may be cheaper than a low first-year package followed by a sharp increase.
Keep written terms
Save the scholarship notice, award letter and renewal conditions. Avoid paying a special scholarship fee to an unrelated personal account.
